Friday night we were greated with another blast of snow. I had dinner plans with some friends but opted not to go. I'm glad I decided to stay home as there were qutie a few cars in the ditch the next day.
Saturday we had a soup supper for the saddle club. There weren't a ton of members there but it was a good night with good friends.
The snow finally started melting today. It wasn't overly warm but it wasn't cold either. DH, the boys and I headed out to the farm to move a bale into the drylot for Black and Nikki. The green grass is starting to sprout and I don't want to take any chances this year so they will be on drylot until the "fresh" grass is gone.
After moving the bale I decided to brush ponies. Cat is going to be absolutely stunning this year! She is so dark around her eyes and on her knees. I popped her halter on, walked her through the muddy mess and headed to the drive to do a little bit of LFR. She was a bit tender on the gravel but w/as much mud as we've had it doesn't really surprise me. After that we headed for the muddy round pen and did some Jefferies. Of course Jefferies turn into riding. I rode her around for a bit before I had DH come turn my leadrope into a set of reins. That made things a lot easier! We walked over a pole, I brushed my leg on the fence (that made her a bit nervous but she just stopped instead of spooking), and did a bit of turning into the fence. She was very good.
I didn't stay on very long (maybe 15-20 minutes) but it was a good ride. Considering I haven't touched since my last blog post I thought she did wonderful. I think she's going to be a very nice horse and exactly what I was hoping for when I bred Tuff.
