Woo Hoo!

I finally have 30 rides on Cat!  It has only taken me a year an a half but I can officially say she has had 30 rides.  Now onto our new goal - 60 rides!  Then I can "officially" do a clinic on her.

Last night I took her with me to drill.  It was pretty muggy out and she was sweating before I even unloaded her from the trailer.  I opted not to do any groundwork with her this time.  She was moving out quickly but wasn't uncontrollable.  I *tried* to work on the bending again.  She does ok to the left - not so well to the right.  She likes to snatch her head back as soon as I release.

I also worked on our "Whoa" off of voice commands.  An empty arena would have helped but I have to use what I have.  There was once she got testy with me but after meeting Mr. Popper she settled right down.  I know she's going to be a stopper once she figures out my cues.

Black got to run the performance twice.  I had to ask her to slow down a few times.  I think she's enjoying being out again.  She was scheduled to get shoes this morning but it didn't happen.  Randy put on one Ground Control shoe and said it put too much pressure on her sole.  I don't want to do glue on boots so we left her bare for now.

Black and I have drill again tomorrow night.  I don't think I'll be taking Cat with me this time.  I'm supposed to be picking up a filly to put 30 - 60 days on (calendar days, not all training days).  She belongs to a friend who knows how slow I work.  It will be interesting.
