She just couldn't take it

Lately MIL has been depressed. I can hear it in her voice and read it in her words. I know people get the winter blahs but she has them bad. Last night we were discussing our plans for Sunday. They need me at drill to fill in for a member that will be gone, Chase has 4-H and I have a board meeting. All 3 activities overlap & DH has to work so MIL was going to watch the boys for me.

As we were talking she informed me of how much she missed the drill team and how she wanted back on. She said it had taken her two weeks just to get the courage to tell me that. She felt silly since all last year she just wanted Sis at home. She had planned on joining the drill team by her but they sound more like a bunch of Parelli followers (I say this in a good way) who get together weekly vs. a drill team. She really did enjoy the drill team and she asked if I thought they would let her back on.

I made a few calls and they were happy to have her back. She starts practice on Sunday so now I have to find a new sitter. I called and told her last night and she was so excited I told DH she wouldn’t be going to sleep anytime soon because she sounded like she had drank and entire pot of coffee (she doesn’t drink coffee but she was wound).

I’m so happy for her. Of course they are thinking this will change my mind about being a permanent member vs. an alternate but I still don’t think that’s going to happen.

That's great. I think that means Sis will get a lot more riding time, too.

"...but I still don’t think that’s going to happen." Sounds like there's a wiggle room in that statement. ;>)
